Suspension of IRAN’s participation in the Green Card System from 01.01.2024 – No issuance of Green Cards for the territory of Iran effective after 01.01.2024

Following the Administrative Instruction No. 635/2022 dated 20.12.2022, of the Motor Insurers’ Bureau-Greece regarding the suspension of the participation of the Iran Office in the Motor Insurer’s Bureau System, we inform you that all Green Card Offices are requested to no longer issue Green Cards that apply to the territory of Iran, with a period of validity extending beyond December 31, 2023 at 11:59pm. Until then Green Cards for Iran are valid as usual. Furthermore, from 01.01.2024, the Motor Insurer’s Bureau’s App will automatically delete the box with the international initials of Iran.

Thus, we inform our clients – Green Card holders, traveling to Iran of this change, of the limited validity of their Green Card and of the need to obtain new border insurance at the borders of Iran after the above date has passed.
